SAW THIS AND COULDN'T RESIST IT

A YOUNG PATO...MMMMM I'M LOVIN' IT

GORSTY HALL, 7/8/11 ~ Yozzer sends 'em reeling

General consensus these days is that without rod and reel you won't frame at Gorsty. So a bombardment of method feeders and pellet wagglers thrashed the water near the lilies to a foam. Although there were plenty of fish out there, they weren't keen to feed.
Due to his method phobia, The Gnome stubbornly got out his trusty pole, even venturing out to 8 (yes eight!) metres. Fishing with 6 and 8 mil meat, he put fish in the net on a regular basis, a mix of skimmers, crucians and small carp, to amass 27lb 08oz. It gave him a narrow victory and had the whole club reeling.
Even the legend that is Ian Simo, in as a guest, resorted to the pellet waggler in an effort to win. He came a gallant and close second with a weight of 27lb 02oz. Good job he can't use a rod, he might have won. Nice try though, unlucky Simo.
The self-proclaimed 'pellet waggler king', AKA Jamie Pickup, also used the float and did well to register 23lb 14oz of mainly pasty carp, which put him on the podium. Another good performance Jay.
Steve Boyd also made a guest appearance, fished the method feeder, and had an assortment of small fish to bring a level 21lb to the scales and managed a section win. Well done Steve.
Gary Chambers, using the short pole, caught crucians steadily for the first couple of hours and looked on course for the frame, but a dramatic switch off saw him struggle for the latter part, and he ended up with 16lb 12oz.
John Edwards has been out of form lately, but further improvement was in evidence this week as he too caught 16lb 12oz to share the other section. Nice one fellas.
Following a few near misses in recent weeks, including one by the man himself, Kenny Pickup had yet another stab at the lottery peg, and this time came up trumps to the tune of £100. Money goes to fkn money eh?
