- Matches shall be open to all members.
- Visitors will be allowed to fish in the matches only, but not enter pools.
- Entrance fees and pools shall be arranged at the matches. A levy of £2.00 will be charged to guests, who may fish unlimited matches.
- Members must fish at least 6 matches per season, a maximum of 3 Lingmere matches to count and 3 at other venues.
- The mode of fishing shall be one rod or pole with a single hook but may have other rods or poles prepared for fishing but not baited.
- Nets must remain on the bank until 15 minutes before the "All-in".
- Every competitor shall bait his or her own hooks and play and land his/her own fish.
- A minimum of 1hr 15mins will be allowed to tackle up before the start of the match.
- All species of fish except trout, sea trout, salmon and crustaceans can be weighed in unless otherwise stated, e.g. trout fishery matches.
- Matches will be pegged down. Pegs will be numbered and not less than 12 metres apart where practicable. The draw for pegs will take place before the commencement of the match. Each competitor on receiving their peg number shall proceed to the corresponding number. This will be considered their fishing ground and they must fish within one metre of the peg number.
- The commencement of the match will be by a given signal and the recommended duration of the match shall be five hours.
- The plumbing of swims and the wetting of groundbait is allowed before the start of the match.
- No prebaiting, loosefeeding or groundbaiting will be allowed before the match starts. Breaches will result in disqualification.
- Casting into another competitor's peg is not allowed. On still water, he or she may fish as far as half the distance between his or her peg and the next angler on either side. On running water the competitor may fish from his or her peg in the direction of the flow down to the next peg.
- No spinning or fly fishing is allowed.
- Floating poles are not permitted.
- Floating baits, either hookbait or feedbaits are not permitted.
- A competitor must strike, play and land his own fish.
- Immediately the signal is given to cease fishing every competitor must do so and any fish already hooked before the signal may be landed having informed their neighbour they have a 'fish on'. The fish must be landed within 15 minutes of the signal.
- Any member fishing contrary to these rules, or annoying another competitor in his/her fishing ground shall be reported to the Committee and may be disqualified from any match and possible future matches.
- All baits may be used, however individual fishery bait restrictions will apply when applicable.
- 2 nets will be compulsory on all venues with an equal split of fish unless otherwise stated in individual fishery rules. Generally 50lb is the weight limit in nets so thought must be given to the venue and possible catches as 3 nets may be required on some waters. Failure to comply could lead to fishery owners denying the Club further bookings.
- Weigher and Checker are pegs 1 & 2. All fish must be weighed to secure points in a match.
- If only one angler catches in a match, then he or she takes all pool monies.
- Any person registering their intention to fish a match and then failing to turn up without informing the Match Secretary, at the latest, the Wednesday evening prior to the match shall be liable to pay the peg fee.
- In the interest of fellow anglers, radios will not be permitted unless an earpiece is used and the volume is adjusted as not to be heard by other anglers.
- Any member abusing another member verbally or otherwise, will be expelled from the Club.
- While fishing with a feeder or bomb, feeding another swim with a pole cup is not allowed.
- All fish caught must be weighed (except trout/salmon).
