Hall Lane Merlins 10/9/17

Gents

Blog this week courtesy of Sumo
Obviously unfunny and another example of his quest for world domination at being in charge of everything

Image result for world domination

Hall Lane Merlins - Results 10/9/17. 11 members made the trip today in cold, blustery and wet conditions. Top dog was the back to 'awesome' Sumo (aka your's truly) with 53lb 6oz of mainly carp with the odd skimmer. Nearly all caught on the banjo, I was amazed that the other anglers who struggled on the long pole were amazed at how windy it was. Never heard of weather forecasts?? ðŸ˜‚😂. Second was Lee Pickup with a very close 52lb 21oz. Lee must have had a briliant last two hours having claimed he didn't have a bite for the first three🙄🙄🙄. Third was the legend that is John 'Buck' Rodgers with 46lb dead all caught down the track. Sections were Sumo, Lee, and the medical experiment called Harrop Senior with 36lb dead. Just goes to show what a cardio-vascular system full of formaldehyde can do on a cold day. Amusement on the day was provided by Pato. All his rigs appeared to be too short for the depth of his peg so he decided that the best approach would be to shallow his swims up with pots and pots of groundbait. After 3 hours this started to bear fruit and he managed a creditable 3rd in a 4 man section having got through £30 quids worth of Sensas finest. Will he never learn???? See you all the Meadlowlands on Friday.

Don't worry I will be back in action soon so be ready Fat C****

Cheers

Cookie

LINGMERE 13/8/17

BUCKO – A hell of a nice guy and a handsome chap to boot .
Bucko charmed the field today at Lingmere .Being nominated by Nicky as the nicest and best looking angler Eggy Ferry has to offer. He used his rugged looks and smooth talking suaveness to help batter the field while still making them feel happy to be twatted by such a nice guy .
Rock’s     Bucko’s approach was to fish around 6m using 4mm pellet and feeding micros . The result was 100-02 lb       of mainly F1’s  and a few carp from peg 19.
This was enough to win the match and cement his position as the clubs most consistent performer and all round really nice guy.
There were a few star names out today including Tony Wilson and Dennis .With Bucko the bookies favourite Tony and Dennis put up a spirited fight but came short at the weigh in .
Dennis offering regular shouts of encouragement to the rest of the field fished down the edge all day using various Mong style rigs. He was so helpful sharing his tips with us that the comment from Cookie of
“ How much shit can be contained in such a small body “ was seconded by all.
Only Dennis knows the answer to this one .
Dennis weighed   95-11 lb of F1’s and some proper lumps to take second  place and the section from peg 32.
Tony tried a similar approach to bucko at the start using caster but could not keep up with our blue eyed boy . However a surge over the last couple of hours fishing short with pellet on Peg 9 saw him total a weight of  92-08 lb  coming   third overall and walloping Cookie and Norman for the section win .
In A section John Bones put together 30lb to beat Eric but this was not enough as the Naked Fisherman Stevie Hudson managed to put 33lb together for the section.
In D section Kev  , Mally and Andy were pitted against each other .Andy came out on top from peg 26 .
He fished down to the left all day and put  66-00 lb   in the net for the section .This was from the same peg that Davey H won the match a few weeks ago using similar tactics .
One thing that spoiled the day was the news that Sumo and Patto had both Qualified for the Maver Match this final . However this was misleading , neither of them qualified or won fuck all as usual.

The news originated from the same source that informed us of the London Bus found on the moon many years ago in the Daily Sport .
Also not too let Sumo off the hook so easily I can now announce to all Club Members that I have sorted the scales out so we are now weighing in pounds and ounces , not pounds and 0.1 of a pound etc
This is what happens when we allow complete helmets like Sumo to be in charge of anything.

PS . After I had written this blog I was informed by a reliable source that Rock Hudson was a raging Homosexual and a complete Twat – Sorry Bucko

MEADOWLANDS A SNEAKY PRACTICE SESSION

Two of our favourite Fat Boys paid a cheeky visit to Meadowlands on Friday.
Hopefully we will all be bagging a few of these little beauties on our weekend away.
Beware though , fisherman next to Sumo had two rods pulled in the lake never to be seen again.
Another recommendation is to have a hook length of 0.18 or bigger.
Another report was that playing Touch Willies is ok in the Holiday Inn as long as the mess is cleaned up afterwards
Have a good weekend boys - see you soon

SUMO IS THE DOGS BOLLOCKS AT THE CUNNERIES

This weeks winner was the ever popular Sumo . With no Nasty Nick here the lack of encouragement he normally gets from Nasty seemed to spur him on and 101-8 of shallow caught fish proved him to have the BIG MATCH TEMPERAMENT this week.
However early in the week a visit to The Glebe in another Maver Match This attempt he stooped to an all time low.On drawing a peg on Foundation Pool our very own Fisho Blanker threw the dummy out of the pram and fucked off home in record time.Unknown to Sumo the lad pegged next to him did 80lb and came third in the whole match
Good decision eh ????

In second place this week was Terry .On this lake Terry comes into his own and 67-07 of mainly margin caught Barbel and Ide was enough to send Dav H and Brisso packing

In third place sporting the latest in Ringpiece fishing accessories was the club Eye Candy Cookie
After struggling on maggot and pellet the change to paste on the top 2 paid off and 59-00 was the reward

The sections were won by the top 3 placings but the rest of the guys all had plenty of fish and in total we had 465lb of fish between 9 anglers

Here are some of Sumo's memories from the Glebe Maver Qualifier

HALL LANE BESS 23rd July

Brisso takes the field apart at Hall Lane

Gary was this week hero with a winning weight of 84-7. A long approach to start with proved ineffective so a change to the margins early on resulted in regular entrants to the keep net and the firts place on the podium

Andy Lawton was close behind for second place , he too concentrated on the margins and had 72-5 for the silver medal

In Third place was Mr Mirth Patto , his 51-10 took the Bronze but no section money

In the sections Dennis gave John Bones and Nick Cunt ( that's what it said on the sheet )
a good rodgrering and 37-08 was enough for the money
The last section winner was Sumo , having been chauffered to the fishery by Cookie the Fisho Blanker put 38-00 together for the £21

Dave Harrop was this weeks champion with a winning weight of 73-45
On a day where some people could not put fish in the net Dave had no problem and caught this impressive bag by fishing in the margin from the off

Second was Lee fishing like a Mong    the Mong . 51-50 was his reward.
In third place was the ever reliable Gary and 49-15 was enough for the section to boot.

In the sections Patto put Eric and Norman to the sword with 42-25.
Dennis put Bucko and Keiran in their places with 39-00
In the last section Andy The Butler sent Sumo off to the Caernarvon , Cookie to the Sportsmans and pipped Mally with a late surge to weigh 33-05

Lovely Boy Nicky sings his way to a win at the Cunneries

Sporting a pair of shorts last worn by Don Estelle in " It aint half hot mum " Nicky ran away with this match to be this weeks winner.
Fishing Long at about 8 metres ?? his pellet approach hard to the rushes on the island bagged 46-85lb to leave us in his wake.
There were 10 of us who made the trip and we decided to fish on one half of the lake as on our previous visit the side nearest to the fishery entrance proved to be hard.
In second place was Hard Cheese Terry .Drawing the same peg as last time the margin rig came out again and 39-05lb was enough for the podium. However being in the same section as the short wearing crooner no envelope came Terry's way this week.
In third place Dave Harrop managed to see off Andy and Bones with 32-05lb winning the section as well.
Sumo took the third section with pellet fished at 6 metres and down the edge. This was the closest of section with Sumo just beating Phil by 2 ounces.
Lots of fish were caught F1's , stockies , Ide and the hard fighting mini barbel.Give it a couple of years and this will be a great lake and deliver good weights.

HALL LANE BESS 21/5/17

Terry wins gold and lets us know he thinks we are an absolute shower of scoundrels

Terry was this weeks top dog on Bess's Lake .Drawn on one of the fancied pegs opposite the gap in the island he managed to bring 36-6 lb to the net and take the podium and the section.
Strong winds prevented Terry from fishing long but his 8 metre approach came good.
In second place was the ever popular Bucko. Drawn in the same section as Swipe Senior he put the ear plugs in and ignored the " Bucko your a twat " tirade to catch 30-09lb. Similarly to Terry his long approach was blown away and spells down the edge on pellet did the trick.
In the bronze medal position was Andy Lawton , drawn on the other flyer opposite the gap in the island. Andy managed to fish long and short and had 27lb for the envelope.
In the sections Brisso came out on top of A section which was made up of 3 former Birkenhead Centre anglers . Dennis , Brisso and Sumo were an example of how many ugly bastards the Birkenhead Centre has produced.
Brisso fresh from a win at Hampton manage 25-06lb for his section win.
The final section was won by Stevie Hudson.Sporting a tan that George Hamilton would have been proud of his weight of 22-6lb took the money.
This match ended the 20 LB and Section winners qualifying round . Check the blog for the qualifiers going into the next round.

Brisso takes a break from Last of  The Summer Wine to take the honours at Hampton

Our very own soap star Brisso was the man in form this week. Having been given a pass out from Nora Batty he won the match with 54-15 of mainly carp from the car park side of the lake.
Couldn't see how he fished it but it was exhibition stuff from the Denim Clad genius.
Making the trip home even more fun was the added bonus of his Chuckle Brother travelling partner Patto claiming second spot and a section win .Patto waited 2 hours for his first bite but refused to capitulate and 48-2 was his reward
You could see the Jolly Trolley rocking with mirth as they left Hampton with beaming smiles.
In third place was old  Fisho Non Qualifier Sumo .
46-00 was enough for third but not enough to win the section.
Surprising result really from Sumo having forgot to bring a feeder rod , Bread and the handles for his trolley I was amazed that the stupid prick remembered to put his fish in the net.
In the sections Nick H managed 37-9 fishing maggot at 2+2 for his envelope.
Stevie Coleman also had 2 hours without a bite but made up for it in the last 2 hours with a net of 40-07 of mainly caught margin fish for C section.
Cookie had a similar two hours with no bites then started to catch towards the end on double red maggot in the margins but could not catch Stevie. However it wasn't a bad recovery after being threatened with a proper bumming by Patto if Sumo beat him using the feeder rod Cookie lent him.
Lee was also in the money catching 45-4 for the money in D section.
Congratulations go to John Bones for winning the last section with 33-10. Biggest smile of the day by far
Commiserations also go to Terry on snapping a pole section.
Boys we must stop this - Sumo will be getting the reputation of " Being in Charge " of pole repairs
beware !!!!!!!

CUNNERIES HAWK 30/4/17

Image result for hurricane

A slight ripple across Hawk lake was the result of the hurricane like winds we endured at the Cunneries last weekend.
Fifteen of us made the trip and were split into 5 sections.
Mr Patterson was kind enough to peg the lake and the expected chants of " which gobshite pegged this " were soon ringing out.
After the Heavyweight boxing the night before it was only Cookie who witnessed another heavyweight hit the canvas prior to the match.
The Fisho non qualifier Sumo had a bit of trouble with his bib and brace and managed to pull himself over landing arse over tit behind his car .Unfortunately I could not get the camera out of my pocket quick enough to capture the event but hopefully a repeat performance will come soon.
This weeks champion was Davey Harrop , drawn with the wind right in his face he braved the elements and weighed 41-55 for the win .Due to the wind a long pole approach was out this week and most caught either close in or around 6-8 mtrers with maggot or pellet.
In second was the ever reliable Bucko . His peg was without any wind and had a perfect view of the
Ecclestone Under 21 Female Cheerleaders dressing room across from his peg .Boy he is one draw bag twat. Despite these setbacks he managed to get 38-45 in the bag for the envelope in D section.
Third place was bagged by Terry who caught right from the off down the edge totalling 36-3 and the money for A section .
After his pre match knockdown Sumo made a remarkable recovery and managed to hold off Mally for the money in B Section.
Finally the star pegger for this week proved his point winning E section with 26-7.Patto with  a short show of Arse cheek before the off added another envelope to the collection.

Not a bad day for  those out of the wind ( except Bucko )we struggled but still had a few fish.

We adopted a new weighing in process this week . It has been nicknamed " the wild man's shite weigh in system ".
Basically you start at one peg and then wander  round all the others in no particular order .
It hopefully will not be seen again as I nearly missed The Antiques Roadshow by the time we got home.

In Summary

SUMO YOU KNOW YOUR PLACE , SO STAY IN IT !!!!!!

A good turn out this week at Hall Lane with 18 of us making the trip.
The star of the show this week was the clubs very own Fisho and Maver Match this " NON QUALIFIER"  John Sumo Edwards .Sumo dobbed bread across for most of his fish.
Fresh from a visit to Makins for a Fisho Qualifier on Saturday Sumo romped ahead and won the match at Hall Lane with 72-03. With the two days combined totals he ended up with a grand total of 72-03 ?
YES YOU HAVE GUESSED IT THE USELESS FAT PRICK BLANKED AT THE FISHO.
Because of this the committee have asked that members fishing non Eggy Ferry matches do not wear their club hoodies  as it damages the reputation of the club when daft shites like Sumo make twats of themselves at open matches.
A few years ago after somehow winning a residents match at Whiteacres  Sumo declared himself as an Open Match Angler and the rest of us as Clubbies ie Club Level Anglers.
After this weeks performance I think he has realised where he belongs .
Welcome Home Clubbie !!
In a very strong section Bucko , Davey H and Jamie were pitted together. Bucko true to form came out on top and his 43-35 was enough for second place overall and the section.Bucko made visits to the far shelf and down the track using pellet for his bag.
Despite pre match predictions that the far end of the lake was " BLAKKKKKKKK " it was tough for the three guys fishing there  but Andy Lawton triumphed with 13-55 for his section win.
Cookie , Eric and Spadger battled it out in C Section with Spadger showing us  the way home with 42-09 of fish , most caught long on maggot and a few at the end close in.
In B Section the envelope when to the in form Stevie Coleman , once again class showed and 31-35 took the section.
In E Section Patto was back on blob after a recent illness . Despite regular bursts of sunshine we were not treated to a view of Patto's 58 DD whoppers  that we saw at Lingmere .However the weather is getting better and it won't be long before they are out again.
Patto won this section with 36-07 and walked back to the car with a smile as wide as his trousers.
Cookie finished off a reasonable day with a minor disaster by snapping his number 8 section while packing up . Beware the Tricast Trilogy myth , they are not unbreakable especially when handled by a HELMET.

Yozzer memorial match Hampton Willow 15/4/17

Twenty four anglers and a couple of bankmen attended Saturdays Yozzer Memorial Match at Hampton .
Yozzer's brothers Gary and Mally along with his nephews Alex , Ben and cousin Cookie represented the family in this top 2 + 2 challenge.
Split into eight sections of three gave everyone a bit of room in the quest to win the trophy.
In A Section Gary Hughes was pitted against Sumo and Bucko in the section of doom. However nobody told our Gary about the skills of the
Fishomania and Maver Match This" NON-QUALIFIER "  Sumo and he with help from Alex he proceeded to kick Sumo's arse to come second in the section with 24-65.
Bucko was once again unstoppable and his 39-55 was enough to win the section and finish 4th overall.
In section  B Swipe Senior , Lee and Chris battled it out .This was where the fish seem to have holed up with both the 1st , 2nd place coming from here. A total of 145lb came from these three anglers with Lee winning the match with 66-50 . Nicky bagged 45-50 for second and Chris with 33-50.
Lee used the method feeder on the pole today and it paid off . Nicky as usual used a cocktail of Minty Old Bait and also caught the biggest fish of the day . A Monkey of a Common weighing 16-00 managed to beat a number of others on its own.
If that was not enough the spawney twat also won the 4 sirloin steaks donated by Bones .
For f****s sake does this guy have the luck of the Irish or what !!!!.
Sorry Rant Over.
In C Section Dave Edwards , Normo and Bob had a go of it and Normo picked up second in section with 22-25 as Bob DNW , another example of those pensioner f****rs taking our hard earned cash.
Dave Edwards as a hard working guy was not detered by being next to Normo and won the section with 31-20 to pick up his envelope.
In D section Simmo , Luco and Jamie had a close match with Simmo coming out as the winner with 31-10 . Jamie a close second with 29-75 and Luco trailing behind with 23-80.
In E section Andy , Les and Housey faced the wind for most of the day in a colder part of the lake .Well done for sticking it out boys.Andy was the victor in this section and an early lump as well as a couple at the end saw 27-60 in the bag . Housey managed 16-15 for second after almost seeing his seatbox roll down the bank and nearly into the water .The £15 section money would have been a welcome contribution to the new seat box fund if it had gone in.
F section saw Stevie Coleman , Tony Wilson and Mally Hughes fight it out.
Mally only an occaisional pleasure angler was not phased by being sandwiched by these two local legend and 13-50 was a creditable result on his first ever match outing.
Stevie won the section with 39-60 and finished 3rd overall .Tony came second in section with 24-35 for his brown envelope.
G section had Eric , Terry and Keiren battling it out . Terry was triumphant netting 34-45 with Eric second with 16-10 .Commiserations to Keiran on drawing one of the best 16m pegs on the lake but only having 4m of pole to play with.
In H section were Cookie , Steve Brew and Davey H. Cookie with help from his son Ben ( NOT DAN YOU DEAF FAT BASTARD SUMO  ) won this one with 17-30. Davey was just behind with 14-30 for second in section.

Congratulations to all who fished and made the day a success
Thanks to Jamie and Tony for organising the match and to everyone who came to remember Yozzer.
Alo thanks to Bone for the steaks I hope Swipe Senior chokes on it .

Thanks again Boys

See you soon.

Lingmere 9/4/17

MAKE LIITLE THINGS COUNT
 TEACH MIDGETS

MATHS

This week after a professional lesson Dennis our very own Ginger Midget showed us his true potential. Before you start , the lesson wasn't in Dwarf throwing or carrying Snow White through the Enchanted Forest but on how to fish Lingmere properly and put the rest of us amateurs in our places.
He learnt well and ran away with the match weighing in 93-03 for first place.
A lot of the fish were caught down the edge this week and for those who didn't catch on to that quick enough there was no way to catch up.
In second place was Andy the Butler. A mixed bag of margin caught fish totaling 79-12 pushed  Dennis to the end but just fell short .Andy's secret was only feeding lightly to his right handed margin and this produced almost all the catch.
In third place and now becoming a podium regular was Dave Harrop , using a special brew of  Any Old Bait 73-08 was bagged .A mixture of feeder , straight out and down the edge proved the winning formula.
In the sections Sumo put Swipe Senior and Stevie Coleman to the sword , his 55-07 of mainly margin caught fish showed that with the right angler peg 11 can produce the goods.
In B section the Denim Clad Dildo Brisso converted his " bugger all " pre weigh in estimate into 39-06 for the money.
In the final section a shirtless Moby Patterson managed to eek out 43-01. Surprising really as he spent 2 hours rubbing sun tan oil into each tit.
This week Cookie was reviewing the World Famous Tricast Trilogy pole .True to reports this pole can handle any water dwelling munter that swims. Unfortunately the guys at Tri-cast never considered the sex mad Canadian geese of Lingmere and when one of the feathered fuckers decided it wanted to take off it ploughed straight into Cookies pole snapping his top kit into 4 pieces.
Happy Days

So in Summary

1st   Dennis 93-03
2nd  Andy 79-12
3rd  Davey H 73-08

Sections

A Davey
B Sumo
C Dennis
D Brisso
E Moby

So congratulations to Dennis for the win and those placed and section winners
Thanks too for the peggers and weighers in

LLOYDS BADGER 1/4/17

TED PUTS US IN OUR PLACE
A very special guest graced us with a visit this weekend. The well known and revered Ted Carter came with us to Badger and promptly kicked everybody’s arses.
Having being forced to draw a peg nearest to the Shithouse due to health reasons he was on  one of  the unfancied low number pegs he knocked up out 44-01 to win the match.
Even the red hot favourite  Bucko could not compete with Ted and unusually the spawny  draw bag superstar could not even make the frame this week. It just shows even when Bucko draws a decent peg we may still have a chance.
In second place after missing a couple of weeks was Sumo he finished with 40-04 of mixed fish and caught steadily all day after a fruitless 30 minutes fishing long at the beginning .
Once again Stevie Coleman showed us that he still has the X Factor . Despite having Bucko next to him he went about the job with gusto and 33-05  gave him third overall .

In the sections Mally once again showed his class and 32-00 bagged the envelope in B section.
In the toughest section this week Mark Davis pulled out 21-07 to win the final section.
This section was where the top three weights came from on our last visit to Badger and proves that the fish are not holed up in one place anymore and should make our next trip to Badger a bit more interesting.

So in Summary
1st – Ted ( the screaming abdabs ) Carter 44-01
2nd – Sumo 40-04
3rd -- Stevie 33-05

MC BUCKO HAMMERS THE OPOSITION

Once again the runaway train could not be stopped as John Rodgers added another 1st place to his impressive list this year.
Drawn on what could only be described as an average looking peg ( MY ARSE ) he promptly shifted into overdrive and left the rest of us floundering in his wake.
A weight of 72-12  was the result so congratulations to Bucko once again.
In second place one of our newer members Mark Davis showed his potential coming second with 55-01. Well done Mark and welcome to the Eggy Ferry Podium.
Finishing off the medals in third place was Dirk Wriggler  .After a few months being missing in action the Wallasey Wizzard conjured up 40-04 .Welcome back Deggsy hope to see you soon.

SON OF SWIPE SHOW HIS OLD MAN WHO's BOSS

14 of us made the trip this week and it was well worth the effort.
Davey Harrop was on top form this week with 73-14 putting him in first place at Lathoms.
The Son of Swipe fished 6 metres for most of the day in A Section with Swipe Senior , Eric and Keith.
Minor hiccup for Eric when his side tray broke and dumped all his bait and other essentials  into the lake. Not to be deterred he managed to retrieve most of his tackle , however as expected from some of our senior members he couldn’t remember what was on the tray to start with .So everything he pulled back out was a bit of a bonus.
Swipe senior tried to get back into contention but fell short of Davey with 54-13.Pellet and the odd bit of corn proved the winning tactics today.
In B Section were Cookie , Bucko and Keiran. The groans of disbelief rang out when Bucko drew the same peg that he drew  on our last visit here.
A couple of “fiddling ,  spawney  , little T**t “ comments were made but nothing  Bucko hasn’t heard before . It certainly didn’t put him off and an all pellet approach at 6 metres did the trick for him.
69-12 of pellet caugh F1’s and other assorted species put him in contention again.
This was enough for the section and third place overall.
In C Section Brisso , Lee and Les were drawn in Blankers Bay. It was certainly tougher down there than the rest of the lake but Brisso between telling  many jokes and doing  impressions managed to net 36-05 to take this section. In the final section we had Stevie Coleman , Patto , Andy and the Ginger Midget.Stevie set off like a house on fire and caught steadily throughout the day .He fished long against a very stiff breeze and was rewarded with 70-09 for second place . Dennis on the end peg ( as usual ) was forced to fish the margins because of the wind and he netted 56-00 .So tough for some but a great day for others in total we caught 553lb, and hopefully with the summer coming things will only get better.
So in summary
1ST Davey H 73-14
2nd Stevie 70-09
3rd Bucko 69-12

Sections
A Davey H
B Bucko
C Brisso
D Stevie
