Lingmere 10/7/16

Shalla , shalla shalla or shalla shalla shalla shalla shalla ?
Only Tony Wilson has the answer.

15 of the Eggy's finest fished our home fishery on Sunday and nobody was disapointed.
Total catch for us was 940lb 5oz on a great day for all.
Split into 4 sections there was a marked difference in attire as those in the wind were togged up like arctic explorers while those out of it donned budgie smugglers or mankinis.

Top of the pile this week was the elusive Simmo on peg 31 he caught from the off on mainly a shalla approach straight out and down the edge later on for a match winning weight of 99lb 12oz only a blurt away from the magic ton. Others in the section were left in awe of  simmo and could only manage to get within 26lb of todays champion.

In second place was Bucko he managed to fend off  Tony , Sumo and the "Deserter " or Nicky H as he used to be known . His 94lb 05oz secured the section win despite Tony fishing a revolutionary new shalla shalla shalla shalla method. When he hooked one of the regular flying skimmers  the snotty individual decided the safest place was to be in the tree.As it flew into the branches and managed to hang itself dangling a foot off the water a new hook length was in the offing and the escape was completed. Despite this setback Tony managed to net 79lb 01oz for 3rd place overall.

In the geriatric section comprising of Kenny Stuart , Eric and Gary Briss it was a close call with Kenny winning C Section with 64lb,Eric had the misfortune to break his trolley when getting to his beg but with help from Steve Ringpiece and Yozzers brothers Gary and Mally his gear was delivered to peg 21 .

Ah carrying someone else's gear to their peg , brings back good memories.

Finally in Section A Mr Tango continued with his recent form and netted 75lb to win the section. Fishing the monkey method he left Normski , Les and the Butler in his wake and cemented  "The Future is Orange " as his motto.

Thanks to peggers and weighers in and Jan for a quality breakfast. See you at Hampton boys and if you gat to the Broxton Roundabout early enough you can enjoy some Dogging there before we do some Dogging at Hampton..

HALL LANE BESS'S 3/7/16

T

                                                  THE FUTURE IS ORANGE

Hall Lane is one of the best kept fisheries on our match diary and it was a pleasure to be there on Sunday .Only 11 of us managed the trip but all apart from Jaybay managed to stick it out and catch a few.
There was plenty of room for all of us and when arrived at their chosen pegs some could be seen and heard drooling over the prospect of fishing.
In three sections we started the match with a slight cold breeze but after an hour the sun appeared and it turned out to be a lovely day for fishing.
Lee a.k.a Mr Frenzee drew a good looking peg and sporting more Orange gear than the Netherlands Football Supporters Club Shop opted to fish across to the island on banded pellet to put together a match winning catch of 55.02lb .
After a spell in Detox at the Betty Ford clinic Tony Wilson was in hot pursuit but fell at the last with a superb  53.11lb in the net to come second and win his section.
R Swipe in the same section adopted a long and short approach and finally settled for the Gnome method and come third with 43.04, supplying the Cookie  Monster with free coffee may have slowed him up but after losing a whole rig he needed to calm down and have a rest for 5 minute.Hopefully he has got over the loss of this 25 year old rig.
Finally Stevie Coleman ( with a new seatbox  )showed he till has it and was the winner of the final section , 26.09 lb in a section of four was enough to fend off  Dennis , Claude Van Dim and our new member Bobby

Over 300lb of fish came out including a couple of eels !!!

This time Nicky , Davie H and I stopped at the Toby Carvery in Ormskirk. Only 6.5 miles from
Hall Lane and Lathoms and £4.25 for an all you can eat breakfast. Hope to see more of us there next time

Thanks to the peggers and weigher inners and also to Nicky .
After me reminding him that I was going to follow him on the way home he immediately pulled out of the fishery and pissed off a fast as he could leaving me in his wake , hence Nasty Nick.

See you at Lingmere

Cheers Cookie
