SUMO shows us he is learning after last weeks timekeeping affair.
Guest Blog this week from SUMO .
As you all know he is desperate to be in charge so every now and again we throw him a bone to keep him interested.
This year's Christmas match saw 20 members
turn up at Lingmere Fishery in Moreton. Even some of the club's rarely seen
superstars turned up. Honestly, they'd turned up anywhere when a free bowl of
chilli after the match is on offer!
After one of Jan's usual lovely breakfasts
the draw was delayed up while we waited for Paul Rob to show up. Apparently
he's changed his hair mousse from L'oreal to Tresseme and it takes a bit longer
to set.
Rumour was that the bottom lake was the
place to be and most were looking forward to drawing down there. Pato drew 44,
end peg on the bottom, and immediately decided that he would catch fuck all. He
spent the next 5 hours doing just that. Either he's clairvoyant or it just goes
to show the power of negative thought.
Jambo Pickup took the day with 64lb 11oz of
mainly F1s on the feeder to the island from peg 42. A brilliant display of accurate casting (his words, not mine) and a great weight on a
hard day.
In the next section Horrible Harrop showed
his much improved tip fishing technique by getting two casts into the water
before he went squirrel fishing up the trees on the island. He admitted defeat
and chose the pole to win his section with section with 13lb 6oz of the 100lb
of fish in front of him!
Meanwhile, things on the top lake things were
not so good (honestly). Absolutely no wind, bright sunshine, and lower than
recent temperatures really put the mockers on things. Steve Hudson took his section with 17lb 1oz
but as he was hidden behind the island I'm not sure what he did. Knowing Steve
it would have involved a feeder and some bread. There was nearly a fatality in
this section. Dennis Jones started talking so much bullshit that poor Steve
Coleman on the next peg nearly drowned in it. Steve's not been out with us for
a while and hopefully this incident won't put him off.
The next section was won by Lee Pickup with
13lb 4oz, but again as i couldn't see Lee, and didn't expect to be blogging
this match, I don't know what he did but well done son.
Someone else won the next section but I'd
rather not talk about it..............oh for fuck sake OK then, Golden Balls
Buck 'The Bastard' Rodgers drew his usual flyer (20) and proceeded to batter
yours truly off the next peg. Honestly
this guy is good, he had my trousers down and was dry fisting me before I knew
what was going on. The twat jolly good fellow had 33lb 7oz for top
weight on the top lake. The utter
utter..............
The final section was won by Dave Edwards
with 23lb 4oz. Again due to an island being in the way and me not expecting to
report meant I didn't find out how he caught. He seemed quite pleased to have
beaten Tony Wilson though!
The Christmas draw was won by some people
but as usual I wasn't one of them so they can piss off!
YO HO HO Merry Christmas everyone!!!!
Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to everyone
See you soon
Cookie
Thanks for the write up Sumo. Well done to all on what was a hard day, unless ya drew a flyer like me and Bucko.
ReplyDeleteMerry Xmas to all of you and hope to see ya all next year.
All the very best to you all.
Would just like to say thanks to Sumo and Cookie for keeping the blog going, it's what Yozz would have wanted. It's a shame more don't use it and add a bit of input.
